Located at Lot Fourteen, the Australian Institute for Machine Learning conducts globally competitive research and development in AI, machine learning, computer vision and deep learning.

Recognised as one of the top AI and computer vision research institutions globally, AIML is also one of the largest university-based research groups in machine learning in the nation.

The South Australian Government has partnered with the state’s universities to establish two Industry Doctoral Training Centre (IDTC) pilot programs.

Based on the UK Centres of Doctoral Training model, these 4-year pilot programs are facilitating collaboration between research and business, developing innovations for translation to market, and supporting greater mobility of graduates between research and industry.

Inspiring SA works with scientists, government, citizen scientists, arts organisations, universities, and industry to provide South Australians with opportunities to connect with, and be involved in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) and improve scientific literacy.

The Inspiring South Australia program is supported by the Australian Government through the Department for Industry, Science and Resource, the South Australian Government through the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science, the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia, Flinders University and the South Australian Museum.

The Medical Device Partnering Program (MDPP) develops novel medical devices with global market potential and fosters collaborations between researchers, industry, end-users and government.

Led by Professor Karen Reynolds of Flinders University, the program is an ideas incubator of medical devices and provides a mechanism to develop proof of concept, prototyping, clinical evaluation and commercialisation planning.
